It is written:
“These are the designated times of Adonai, the holy convocations you are to proclaim at their designated times. In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, between sundown and complete darkness, comes Pesach (Passover) for Adonai.” (Leviticus 23:4-5)
ADONAI (YHWH), the God of Isra’el, our God, has designated the times of the feasts (including Shabbat). It is an affront to Him to change them. These feasts were to be proclaimed in their seasons (Leviticus 23:4), and the seasons God chose for them, not men!
Passover itself was a prophetic picture of the Deliverance that the Jewish Messiah Yeshua, our Lord, our Passover Lamb, accomplished for the Jewish People and for the nations, and Yeshua the Messiah, our Lord, was actually executed on the day that the Passover lambs were being killed in preparation for the start of Passover.
So Passover is not only a Celebration of Freedom and Deliverance for the Jewish people; it is also for us who have received FORGIVENESS through the atoning work of the Jewish Messiah Yeshua, our Lord, a Celebration of our FREEDOM and REDEMPTION.
Yeshua the Messiah, our Lord, was slain as the Passover Lamb of God so that we could be set free from the bondage of sin and redeemed from the power of the Kingdom of darkness.
This is a Day for us to Remember and Celebrate as a Festival to ADONAI (YHWH), our God; from generation to generation we are to celebrate it by a perpetual regulation (Exodus 12:14)
As we remember what it meant during the time of Moshe (Moses), let us Remember what it means for us today:
As the blood of the Passover lamb of Moshe (Moses) time protected the Israelites from the “destroyer.” It caused him to pass-over their homes which enabled them to be free from bondage and led them to the promised land, the Blood of the Messiah Yeshua , our Passover Lamb, protects us from that same “destroyer.” It frees us from the bondage of our sins, that through repentance we may be led, Jews and non-Jews, to our promised land… The Isra’el of God, The Eternal Kingdom of our God who reins FOREVER!
