It is written:
“Now,” Y’hoshua urged, “put away the foreign gods you have among you, and turn your hearts to Adonai, the God of Isra’el.” (Joshua 24:23 Complete Jewish Bible)
YHWH, our great Elohim and Father, and the Elohim of Isra’el, our Elohim in Covenant (through our union with Yeshua HaMashiach), is “The One” we are bound to hear and give heed to.
Yes, in our union with Yeshua HaMashiach, our Master, now that the matter has been laid thus plainly before us, let us not stand hesitating, let us serve YHWH, the Elohim of Isra’el, our Elohim and our Father, Truly and Sincerely, in gratitude for His Favour.
YHWH, the Elohim of Isra’el, is our Elohim who has graciously engaged Himself by Promise to us, and to whom we have by solemn vow engaged ourselves, through our union with Yeshua HaMashiach.
We cannot serve Him except we put away all other gods, for YHWH is Holy and jealous, and will by no means admit a rival; therefore we must be very watchful and careful, for it is at our peril if we desert His service.
Our Master Yeshua has assured us that his yoke is easy (Matthew 11:30), yet he has also told us that the gate is strait, and the way narrow, that leads to life (Matthew 7:14), that we may therefore strive to enter, and not seek only.
We cannot serve YHWH and Mammon; therefore, if we resolve to serve YHWH, we must renounce all competitors with Him.
We cannot serve YHWH in your own strength, nor will He forgive our transgressions for any righteousness of our own; all the seed of Isra’el must be justified and must glory in YHWH alone as our Righteousness and Strength (Isaiah 45:24-25), through our union with His Beloved Son, the “Hebrew and Jewish Messiah Yeshua”.
We must therefore come off from all confidence in our own sufficiency; else our purposes would be to no purpose.
Let us incline our hearts to the Elohim of Isra’el, use our authority over our own hearts to engage them for YHWH, not only to set our affections upon Him, but to settle them so.
Shabbat Shalom to ALL, Jews and non-Jews, who belong to the Messiah Yeshua. In our union with Yeshua HaMashiach may we may we live to leave a legacy of Faith in YHWH, our Elohim, for those around us.
